Hi guys! I would like to share my experience studying English 2 with my class and my teacher Mr. Emery.
For the first time in the class, we had doubts. Who will be our english teacher? Will it be Mrs. Yulli? Or Mr. Hendry? Then we found a teachers code in the schedule. "E5? Who is he?". E5 turned out to be Mr Emery according to the code. Then he came in, as usually we greet our teacher in Bahasa Indonesia. When the class started, he told us in the next one semester, we will had him as our english teacher. He wanted a commitment to speak in English while in his class. I was like "i am not good at Bahasa, and he want us to speak in English?". But then i took the good side. I need to speak in english. Because my english is so bad.
Now it almost a semester, and there are three experiences that are most valuable for me.
The first one is we must finish an online TOEFL test Testden. He said we must have an email to register and at least reach the score of 76. I thought it was an easy challenge. But NO! In the first try, NOBODY passes the test. Neither does the next attempts. Some of the class even made more than 3 new emails in order to re-register. For myself, i made 2 email accounts. It means i take 6 attempts. The last 2 attempts, i finally got a score above 76.
The second one, we had a drama. My group member was Erliana, Christevya, and Deodatus. In the first week of drama, we must think a plot for the drama. The other group have the cool ones, like Brave, Three little pigs, and the rabbit and tortoise. My group? It was a simple idea. A plot about Malin Kundang. Malin Kundang is an Indonesian Legend that "we should remain loyal to our parents". It was a simple idea until we decide to revise it. Deodatus will perform as Korean Malin Kundang, Christevya will perform as his Sister, Erliana will perform as his girlfriend, and sadly i will perform as his mother. It was a funny and most experiencing performance.
The last one, we had a speech about hopes and dream. It was boring because most of my friends hopes and dreams is to become a Doctor. But the rest of it was very entertaining and motivating. My friend Alvian and i weren't good at public speaking, so he and i got nervous when we gave a chance to do so. He was entertaining when he performs. He was the one that had a formal opening with class atmosphere speech. My friend Rizki was motivating all of the class audience. His idea was simple, he wanted to become a superhero. That's all, and his speech was somehow motivates us.
